As many of you may be aware Veligandu opened in the year of 1984.
Since the opening, the resort continued a successful growth over the years and are recognized as an award winning leader amongst many hospitality categories, in the Maldives and Worldwide.
Today, we are thrilled to share that based upon Owner and Management decisions, Veligandu island Resort & Spa will receive a resort renovation starting from June 1st, 2023, for a duration of approximately 1.5 years.
The purpose will be to enhance the product positioning and to welcome clients to a new, modern, luxury and well updated resort in the Maldives.
Unfortunately, this does mean Veligandu will be out of order for a planned period of 1.5 year.

Resort Closure: Thursday, June 1st, 2023
Resort Re-Opening: Friday, November 1, 2024
Effective immediately, we request all partners to stop sell Veligandu from above mentioned date period until further updates from our team during the renovation project.
For existing bookings we propose the following:
Existing reservations made for stays from June 1, thru/including October 31, 2024 will be cancelled at no charge, unless guest prefer to re-book. If payment has already been actioned, 100% refund will be provided. Cancellation will be at no charge.
Re-booking with the same existing booking details is possible for stays from November 1st 2024 up until December 20, 2024. Re-bookings have to be confirmed to Reservations before September 30, 2022, or the booking will be automatically cancelled.
The renovation project is a major milestone for the resort and we thank each of our long serving partners for building the Veligandu brand and many repeater clients which simply lost their hearts in this island sanctuary. We guarantee to come back with a resort filled with new adventures, luxury and pure natural bliss.
